What makes a good Arabic dubما الذي يصنع دبلجة عربية جيدة؟

Five things decide whether an Arabic dub sounds native or machine-made, and what Lisan AI does about each of them.

1. One Arabic for every viewer: Modern Standard Arabic

Spoken Arabic differs from country to country. Modern Standard Arabic (MSA, al-fusha) is the Arabic of news, documentaries and dubbed films, and it is understood from Morocco to Iraq. Lisan AI dubs into MSA, so one version reaches the whole Arab world.

2. Diacritics: Arabic is usually written without its short vowels

In everyday writing, Arabic leaves out most short vowels. A reader fills them in from the context, but a voice has to guess. The same letters كتب can be read كَتَبَ (he wrote), كُتُبٌ (books) or كُتِبَ (it was written). A wrong guess changes the meaning, or sounds foreign.

That is why Lisan AI writes every word with its full diacritics (tashkeel) before it is spoken. A second, separate check proofreads the vowels and corrects clear mistakes, without ever changing a word. With full diacritics, the details a native speaker hears are written out too: the doubled sound after "al-" in words like الشَّمْس (ash-shams, the sun), and the right reading of each hamza (أ إ آ).

3. Men and women speak differently in Arabic

English "Are you tired?" is one sentence. In Arabic it is أَنْتَ مُتْعَبٌ؟ to a man and أَنْتِ مُتْعَبَةٌ؟ to a woman, and the speaker's own gender changes words like "I am tired" too. A translation that only sees one sentence at a time often picks the wrong form.

Lisan AI reads the conversation around each line to work out who speaks and who each "you" is said to, and the translation uses that. When a form is still not certain, the line is marked "Check gender" so you can look at it.

4. Timing: Arabic is often longer

An Arabic sentence often needs more time than the English one. A good dub keeps the words inside the scene without sounding rushed. Lisan AI lets a line run into the pause after it, speeds it up only a little when needed, and otherwise rephrases it shorter. A separate check compares the shorter line with the original and rejects it if it no longer says the same thing.

5. The same voice and the same scene

A dub feels real when the people still sound like themselves. Lisan AI copies each speaker's voice for your project and gives it a native Arabic accent, and the way each line is delivered (angry, calm, whispering) follows the original. The original music and sound effects are separated from the voices and mixed back in.
